Erin Brueche is a Partner with the firm Family and Matrimonial Practice Group. She has been designated by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Matrimonial Attorney, a distinction held by a limited number of attorneys statewide and is recognized for her experience in complex divorce and family law matters. In addition to representing clients in litigation, Erin also serves as a divorce and family law mediator, helping individuals and families resolve disputes through mediation, negotiated settlement, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Erin has devoted her entire legal career to the practice of family and matrimonial law. She represents clients throughout New Jersey in all aspects of divorce and family-related matters, including child custody and parenting time, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, prenuptial and premarital agreements, post-judgment applications, and related litigation. She works closely with her clients to develop practical, goal-oriented strategies, whether through litigation, mediation, or settlement negotiations. While she is a strong and effective advocate in court when necessary, Erin also places significant emphasis on resolving matters efficiently and respectfully whenever possible.
In addition to her litigation practice, Erin regularly works with clients in divorce and family law mediation, providing a structured and confidential process for resolving disputes outside of the courtroom. As a mediator, she assists parties in reaching fair and workable agreements regarding custody, parenting schedules, support, and division of assets, allowing them to maintain greater control over the outcome while reducing the emotional and financial cost of litigation. Erin believes that while some matters require strong courtroom advocacy, many family disputes can be resolved more effectively through mediation or negotiated settlement when the parties are guided by experienced counsel.
Erin approaches every case with the understanding that no two families are the same. She tailors her strategy to the specific goals of each client and remains mindful of the long-term impact that divorce and custody disputes can have on parents and children. As a parent, she appreciates the importance of preserving co-parenting relationships and keeping the best interests of children at the center of every matter.
Erin is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and Wake Forest University School of Law. Following law school, she served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Thomas H. Dilts (Retired), former Presiding Judge of the Somerset County Family Part, where she gained extensive experience in divorce, custody, and other family law matters.
Erin is active in the legal community and frequently serves as a panelist in the Somerset County Early Settlement Program. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Family Law Section. She is a lecturer on divorce and family law topics, has been quoted in Divorce Magazine, and has appeared on television as a legal commentator on family law issues and as the host of RVN TV’s show Legal Breakdown.
Erin resides in Somerset County, New Jersey, with her husband and two children.
