Scott Salmon, a Shareholder with the firm, is the Chair of the Election Group and Co-Chair of the Government Representation Group. Scott is also the Co-Managing Partner of the firm, alongside Tom Jardim. Scott has been referred to as the “Young Turk of Election Law,” and as one of the most prominent election lawyers in New Jersey.
Scott’s primary work is in the area of municipal law. He is the Township Attorney for Berkeley Heights and Teaneck. He also provides other counseling and litigation services to many governmental entities, including Cranford, Fanwood, Englewood Cliffs, Hillside, Lambertville, Newark, Paterson, Roselle Park, and Trenton. Scott has previously represented Bradley Beach, Dover, Garwood, Jersey City, Manville, Millburn, Parsippany-Troy Hills, Red Bank, and Springfield, among others, as well. This work includes general representation, outside litigation, employment and labor law, election law, and land use/redevelopment law.
Scott is an accomplished litigator who is not afraid to take cases to trial, with multiple jury verdicts under his belt. He is also a practiced appellate attorney with half a dozen published decisions, both from the New Jersey Appellate Division and Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Scott has argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court in the seminal case of Borough of Englewood Cliffs v. Trautner, 260 N.J. 410 (2025).
Scott also advises and represents political campaigns at every level on various election-related issues, including ballot access, recounts/election contests. He has worked with initiative and referendum petition committees as well as on various recall matters. Scott advises campaigns and organizations such as 501(c)(4) entities and PACs on campaign finance rules and regulations. Among others, he has represented Tom Malinowski and Josh Gottheimer of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop in his campaign for New Jersey Governor. Scott has also represented multiple municipalities and counties in the decennial re-warding process.
For the last several years, Scott has served on the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, and Action Together New Jersey. He previously served in that same role for Temple Emanu-El in Westfield, New Jersey. He is an Eagle Scout, has run three marathons, and is a devout fan (read: sucker) of the New York Jets. Scott has been quoted by the New York Times and the Washington Post, among numerous other media outlets. He has been featured in profiles by the New Jersey Law Journal and New Jersey Super Lawyers.
Prior to engaging in the private practice of law, Scott worked for Judge Eric N. Vitaliano, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York, as well as Judge Philip S. Straniere, New York City Civil Court. Scott also worked for the Richmond County District Attorney as well as for the Honorable Michael E. McMahon (NY-13) in the United States House of Representatives. He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law where he served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Energy, Climate, and the Environment. Scott also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History (with honors) from Franklin and Marshall College.

- Won an appeal to the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, in a matter that guaranteed bilingual ballots to a municipality in which nearly 70 percent of the population is Hispanic.
- Secured favorable results for a whistleblower client who was terminated for reporting illegal activity to their superiors.
- Secured favorable results for a sexual harassment and assault victim asserting claims against a large public institution.
